When you are using the memory card with the write-protect switch and the switch is set to the LOCK position, you cannot shoot with the Remote Camera Control. Remove the memory card or set the switch to the recording position.
Confirm whether [USB connection] on the camera is set to [Remote PC]. If not, set it to [Remote PC] on the Setup menu tab [2]-[USB connection].
What is [Wireless] under [Drive mode] on the Remote Camera Control?
When you shoot with Remote Camera Control using the Remote Commander supplied with DSLR-A700, you need to set it to [Wireless]. The setting on the Remote Camera Control is selected to [Wireless] automatically when you set [Drive mode] to [Remote Commander] on the camera.
