As the Image Database File of the camera was damaged, a new Image Database File was created. Can videos recorded before the Image Database File was created be imported?
Yes. Though the Image Database File of camera was damaged, videos with HD (high definition) image quality can be imported into your computer by using the PMB (Picture Motion Browser), if a new Image Database File is created.
Also, when you perform [REPAIR IMG.DB F.] on the camera after creating a new Image Database File, videos with SD (standard definition) image quality or still images can be imported into your computer by using the PMB (Picture Motion Browser).

Import procedures:
Operate in the following procedures when you import videos with HD (high definition) image quality after a new Image Database File is created.
  1. Connect your computer and camera via USB connection cable.
  2. The [USB SELECT] is displayed on the LCD screen of camera.
  3. Touch the [USB CONNECT] of the recording media that you want to import.
[Handycam Utility] is displayed on the computer screen, and the following message is shown.
  4. Note

If the [Handycam Utility] is not displayed, start it from the start menu.
  5. When you import the videos with HD (high definition) image quality into your computer, select [Import HD movies without management information to the computer], and click [OK].
The [HD Movie Recovery] screen in the [Handycam Utility] is displayed, and the thumbnails of videos with HD (high definition) image quality that have no management information are shown.

  6. Click and check the thumbnail of the video that you want to import into your computer.
Types of images you check will be imported into your computer.

  7. Confirm the folder to import to, and click [Import].
Import starts. After import is completed, the following message is shown.

    [Import completed.
All HD movies that do not have management information will be deleted. HD movies without management information that were not imported will also be deleted.
Are you sure you want to continue?]

  8. When you delete all the videos with HD (high definition) image quality that have no management information, click [Yes]. If you do not delete them, click [No].

    Note

Even when you selected [Yes], videos with HD (high definition) image quality that were recorded after [Image Database File] were created are not deleted.

With above procedures, import of videos with HD (high definition) image quality is complete.

To import videos with SD (standard definition) image quality or still images, operate in normal import procedures.
